Due to light winds the final day of the King Edward VII Gold Cup has been under postponement since 1000 hours. A north/northeasterly breeze is starting to fill, but is blowing no more than 5 knots with very light patches on Hamilton Harbour. Event Chairman Les Crane has recently announced that no racing will take place before 1300 hours, providing there’s sufficient wind. When the competitors do take to the water they’ll be contesting the Petite Final and Final. The Petite Final, between Ed Baird and Blythe Walker, has been reduced to a best-of-three contest and the final is still a best-of-five match. The Junior Gold Cup final for Optimist sailors, scheduled for 1200 hours, has been changed to a fleet parade. |
